Wellington Lodge No. 784 has met for more than 165 years in the town of Deal, within the Province of East Kent. Our meetings are held in a spirit of friendship and mutual respect, where members gather to share in the traditions and values of Freemasonry.

We are a Craft Lodge under the United Grand Lodge of England, tracing our name and heritage to the courage and leadership of the Duke of Wellington. Our members come from a wide range of backgrounds, professions and walks of life, but all are united by the same principles: Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Service.

At Wellington Lodge, learning and fellowship go hand in hand. Each meeting offers the opportunity to explore the meaning of our ritual, to support good causes, and to enjoy the company of like-minded men. Visitors from recognised constitutions are always made welcome, and prospective members will find a Lodge that values sincerity, good humour, and mutual encouragement.

Consecrated in 1859, the Lodge was named in honour of the Duke of Wellington, a figure whose leadership and integrity reflected the principles at the heart of Freemasonry: courage, discipline, and service to others.

From its earliest days, the Lodge has been a constant presence in the local community. Its members, drawn from many walks of life, have shared a commitment to fellowship and charity that has endured through peace and hardship alike.

During both World Wars, brethren of Wellington Lodge served their country with distinction. At home, the Lodge extended support to families in need, cared for returning servicemen, and remembered with solemn gratitude those who did not return. In the years that followed, the spirit of service that had guided those times of trial became the foundation for new charitable work and community engagement.

Through the interwar and post-war decades, Wellington Lodge strengthened its ties with local and national Masonic causes. The Lodge contributed to the establishment of the Royal Masonic Hospital, supported the education of children orphaned by conflict, and participated in major charitable appeals within the Province of East Kent.

Today, the Lodge continues to meet in the town of Deal, upholding the same values of integrity, friendship, respect, and charity that have defined it for generations.

Its members remain dedicated to preserving the best of Masonic tradition while welcoming the spirit of modern fellowship, ensuring that Wellington Lodge No. 784 continues to thrive for generations to come.
